Performing in all 12 shows of “Magic Mirror the Musical”
Although the Bejing 2008 Summer Olympics is over and done with, the spectacular images and scene fresh off the ceremonies still remain deeply in our hearts. The elegant and lively performance from the professional dancers of Beijing Dance Academy are captured our hearts and the authentic performance during the Bejing 2008 Summer Olympics are left with nothing but promising commentaries. After the Bejing 2008 Summer Olympics, some 20 performers have been actively practicing for another International show, “Magic Mirror the Musical”. The performance by these dancers will bring together the roaring applause again in the 12 shows of “Magic Mirror the Musical” organized by Guan Yin Foundation from the 27th of November to the 14th of December 2008 in the Genting International Convention Centre, Malaysia.
“Magic Mirror the Musical”, the 100 minute long musical involves over 50 performers including dancers, singers and other popular acting talent in the industry. The focus of course falls on the batch of graduates from Beijing Dance academy let by first class dancer Professor Yu. Professor Yu, the director of this musical organized locally by Guan Yin Foundation will lead us to this rare opportunity of collaboration between our local talented performers and the Chinese Nationals.
“Magic Mirror the Musical” is also fortunate for the opportunity to have popular host of Phoenix Chinese Channel, Ms. Li Hui to take up an important lead character. Aside hosting various popular lifestyle programs, Ms. Li Hui is also a professional dancer, a graduate from Beijing Dance Academy. In 1997, Star TV introduced Ms. Li Hui to the world through the new program “Total Trendy Guide”. Through this program, the beautiful and elegant Ms. Li Hui introduced to her audience the lifestyle and trendy guide from all over the world. Ms. Li Hui take on the character of a single mother in “Magic Mirror the Musical”
The musical organized by Guan Yin Foundation shouts the message: “The Power of Compassion” of a Three faced Guan Yin, the main face showing the Bodhisattva the left side showing an angry face, the right side expressionless. The magic mirror in the arms of the Bodhisattva shows the past, present and future.
“Magic Mirror the Musical” will be shown on November 27, 28, 29, 30 and December 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14 at the Genting International Convention Center.
