1) Hua Xiang Ci Bei

Like fragrant flowers in a beautiful meadow;
May all beings find happiness in harmony.
Just as spring remains unmoved by a cool breeze;
May all beings remain unmoved, in equanimity.

The birds sing to the mountains and rivers;
The rivers moisten the earth,
The clouds gather in the sky;
And the sun warms all within the universe.

The eastern sun radiates its golden light;
Ever shining upon one and all.
And the moon illuminates, and is reflected in, lakes and rivers;
Similarly, with my heart pure, may I be ever thankful.

This glorious western paradise, compassion's reflection;
To praise it is to be drawn ever nearer,
Blissfully praise it’s nature;
And with compassion it will be born, and thrive within you.

2) Ming Tian De Lu Zhen Chang

"Oh my dear children, future's path is very long,
but don't be afraid of the storms and rains;
Be brave and walk with dignity,
With your sights set, look straight ahead,
and take a firm step forward."

"Dear old Ye Ye, oh' how you dote upon us;
Can't you see that we are all strong?
With you here beside us, we are never afraid.
Throughout the seasons, no matter how rough the weather,
Our bright future is directly before us!"

"From the clouds that cover the sky..."

"...falls the nourishing rain,"

"Just look at the lush countryside,"

Flowers growing amongst the trees and grass,"

Be brave to charge into the unrestrained and far ranging,
With each careful step, look beyong, we will travel to all far corners,
With guts and each steady step.

3)Xin Gan Qing Yuan

Compounded phenomenon, mere coming together and dissipation,
Unceasing tides of coming and going,
Impermanent, like the waxing and waning of the moon,
Do you recall the impermanence of life?

Value your youth and don't procrastinate,
Or just waiting for your hair to turn gray?
Are you afraid of heavy loads?
The willing people,
Are not afraid of heavy load

Each and every experience is like playing a new game,
And your winning or losing is never predetermined,"
Like the waxing and wayning of the moon,
One’s life is forever changing.

4) Ren Sheng Lu Yao Zou Hao

"Just as the moon turns to crescent,
We shall endure the changes,"

"Yu Lian's kind mother cares for us all,
From the heat of summer through to winters’ chill;
She reminds of the preciousness of time,
Of how youth, once spent, will not return;
Dear Yu Lian's mother, worry not,
For we remember your words;
We do good deeds every day,
And mindfully we'll venture along future's path,"

5) Qian Jiang You Shui Qian Jiang Yue

"Mind creates heaven and contains it,
Mind also creates hell and contains it;
Everything arises, along with the thought of it,
And everything ceases when the thought of it ceases."

The principle Guan Yin sings:

"White blossoms decorate the Potala,
Their scent permeating everywhere;
Although they fade with the rising of the moon,
They reappear with dawn's nourishment of dew

Springs of flowers bloom in the Potala;
As the red sun sets in the west,
Breezes cause the moon to cast her shadows,
Who listens to the cries of the destitute?

There are as many reflections of the moon as there are receptacles;
On cloudless days the sky is without limit;
Every sound utters truth;
And all appearance is pure,

In the deepest ravines,
whose voice shall rise up?
And, like the lotus leaf that is unsullied by the pool in which is grew,
Appear with ease and the greatest of purity?"

6) Bu Jian Lai Shi Lu

“All of you who refuse to hand over your money and wealth will be slaughtered!
Do you hear me? Slaughtered! Slaughtered!!

All who refuse to beg for mercy will be shown no mercy! Do you hear me? No mercy!
No mercy!!

Your nightmares have become a reality, and you have no future!
Today you future is destroyed!
Your fate is death and poverty! There will be nothing left! Total annihilation! Run; run…..if you can!!”

7) Zhu Guang

“If your heart has light, there is no darkness that cannot be dispelled;
If your effort is strong, there are no obstacles that cannot be overcome;
Negativity is like the dead of night; don’t be disheartened, light will soon come!

Be courageous, inner strength will come and with it, direction and hope;
Justice itself is as a strong wall, withstanding the tempest of bigotry;
The darkness of night is as a shadow, stand fast, and do not be conquered;
The wind of oppression may be strong, but stand firm, do not be swayed;
The fire of evil may burn bright, but we will wait for tomorrow’s sun and the thaw of winters’ night!”

8)Mei Li De Xin

"So much harm done in the name of war;
So much destruction wrought in battle;
And so many tears have been shed, over oceans of spilt blood─
left drying amidst charred remains;
Yet, how much has been learned about the fleeting nature of meeting and parting?

Destruction comes at the invasion's conclusion,
and bloodshed comes at battle's end;
Can you believe that love and compassion could embrace all?
If you care, your lonely heart may find ease,
and then, the peace you desire."

9) Wo Men De Jia

"What's inside? I asked, and my mother replied:
'A little, and if a little is gathered daily it will eventually become as big as a mountain,'
'How big can a mountain become?' I asked.
'So high as to protect you from the wind and storm;
providing you with joy and warmth, so you will not be afraid.'
As brave and strong as a mountain, I'm filled with hope."

'What's inside?' I asked, and my sister replied:
'Ding, Ding, Ding and Ding, is a wonderful noise
that could soon become a song,'
'How should it be sung?' I asked.
If sung with truth, it will provide you with strength,
providing you with joy and warmth, so you will not be afraid.'
As brave and true as a song, I'm filled with hope."

'What's inside?' I asked, and everyone replied:
'With ping ping and pang pang the coins knock back and forth;
Eventually they'll become our home.'
'What shall we have in our new home?' I asked.
Love, understanding, and care,
providing us with joy and warmth, so we will not be afraid.'
As brave and true as a home, I'm filled with hope."

I want to have a mountain,
I want to sing forever,
and I want a warm home;
Forever and always!

'What's inside?' I asked, and my mother replied:
If we accumulate a little daily, we'll soon have our new home!"

10) Jing Sheng Yi Qi

"Alas my dear daughter, you have been sick all your life,
there isn't an end to the amount of herbs you have taken,
to no avail.
Alas, alas, it seems as if it's your karma to suffer so."

"Dear mother who loves me so,
do not say it's my karma to suffer;
to be your daughter and to have received your love is a great joy!
How can I repay such love?
If not now, then in our future lives I resolve to do so"

Yu Lian’s mother: "Do not fear your pain."
Yu Lian: "Do not fear your obstacles."

Together: "Together we shall overcome them all!"

Yu Lian: "And we will see…"

Yu Lian’s mother: "Tomorrow's rising sun."

Together: "Which illuminates and warms all."

Yu Lian’s mother: "Alas my poor daughter, your life has been tough."

Yu Lian: "Dear mother who loves me, I'll not place the blame on anything or anyone."

Together: "It is a joy to be together as mother and daughter, through happiness and sorrow we persevere."

11) He Ye Lu Zhu

"Through springs warmth and winters’ chill,
nature changes from green to brown;
Through one's meetings and partings
The experience of one's life continually changes.

All beings,
moving past one another,
A brief encounter can stir such fondness, and beauty

As the beautiful sight of a dewdrop upon a lotus petal,
Left through the cold of night, and days break"

12) Zui Sheng Meng Si

"Come on! Let's indulge ourselves. How wonderful it is to inebriated!
If you take my heed you'll soon know boundless joy!

Sing till you lungs burst! (Sing till you lungs burst!)
Drink till you fall! (Drink till you fall)

Ah……

Wherever we lay our hats, be it on a high mountain, a river bank, or below our feet is our home; and as far as the eye can see is our courtyard!

Let us sing!

Let us drink!

Ah……

13) Hei Ye

Villagers : “A dark rain cloud above has drifted here, and now obscures our view of the sky, sun, and moon;
Evil Forces : “Without homeland and future, what do I have to loose?
I am the storm, I am a raging fire; I want to destroy everything!”
Villagers: “We want to reclaim our blue skies!”
Evil force : Listen to me, And you shall see the future.
Villagers : : “Ah………. Who can give us strength?”
Evil force: “ Ah…….To betray me is to suffer annihilation!”

Villagers : “Its torrential downfall harms us, chasing away the breezes and life, so dear;
Evil Forces :” Without family and timeline, who cares?
I am a wolf , I want howl, My merry shall be here now!”
Villagers : “ I have to protect my dear native land”
Evil Forces : “ Obey, and you will be fulfilled”
Villagers : : “Ah………. Who can give us strength?”
Evil force: “ Ah…….To betray me is to suffer annihilation!”

14) An Jing De Shui

"Oh my husband, who loves me dearly;
Oh father, who dotes on our daughter;
You are yet to return home, when will you come?
When will my nightmare be over?

I love our daughter dearly,
seeing her eyes full of tears,
is too much to bear!
and the disturb glance of unknowing

Oh Xiao Cui, you may cry out loud,
Oh Xiao Cui, you may sleep in peace now,
Oh Xiao Cui, you may cry out loud,
Oh Xiao Cui, you may sleep in peace now."

15) Ye Yue

"Night is so beautiful, and so is the moonlight;
You are so beautiful, and so are you!"

16) Hei Ye Lai Lin

Yu Lian:" Why has the moon gone from the sky?"
Xiao Hu: "Why is it so dark this night?"
Xiao Yu: "Where are all the stars hiding?"
The old grandfather: "When will dawn arrive?"

Xiao Cui’s mother: "The shadow of darkness is cast so heavily."
Xiao Niu: "Is it this which blinds me?"
Yi Yi: "Oh morning sun, please come quickly."
Yu Lian’s mother : "And warm our quivering hearts."

Yu Lian: "Oh dark night may you soon be gone, so the blue sky may return."
Xiao Cui’s mother: "When will that bright, sweet smile appear before us again?"

All together: "Why has the moon gone from the sky?
Why is it so dark this night?
Where are all the stars hiding?
When will dawn arrive?"

Xiao Cui’s mother: "The shadow of darkness is cast so heavily. Is it this which blinds me?"

17) Hua Xiang Man Tian

"I have traveled for miles and miles,
There is nothing I've not seen in this world,
But my greatest wish is that, in the dead of night,
May all be safe and snug

I have seen countless individuals,
Who have studied for time without end;
Their fleeting knowledge comes and goes,
But to have compassion, steadfast, is the ultimate way.
If you have wisdom's eye, you'll see that darkness cannot endure;
If you have sharpness of mind, you'll realize the storm will subside;
Who will clear the confused minds?
Who will open all the closed pairs of eyes?

And I will clear the confusion from your minds!
I will open your closed pair of eyes,

Look at us,
all happiness' and sorrows are fleeting in the wind.
However should you create the correct causes,
You'll enjoy their sweet results."

18) Di Shui Yong Quan

Lady in white: "A magic mirror such as this, is very hard to come by in this world,
a incomparably rare and unique treasure it is. I'll ask a thousand tael for it. Not a candareen less and nor a candareen more. Don't miss this once in a lifetime chance!

Liu Jia: So much money for such a tiny mirror? That can't be right, please tell us its true value."

Lady in white: "This magic mirror, with it shiny three dimensions, initially it will reflect your thoughts, then it'll reflect your past actions, and finally it'll show you the result of those actions, your future. Something most rare, wouldn't you agree? Something most valuable!"

Liu Jia: "Stop speaking such nonsense, you silly foul hag! There is no such thing, it's unbelievable, and that’s what it is. But….perhaps I should take a closer look."

Lady in white: "Of course, be my guest. But to see your karma will cost three candareens! A mirror with three dimensions, showing all causes and conditions thoroughly. "

19) Nan Mo Da Bei Guan Shi Yin

"Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to know the spiritual path, spontaneously!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to gain the sight that sees all!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to bring ashore all beings adrift in the ocean of suffering!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to gain skillful means!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to sail the boat of wisdom!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to cross the sea of samsara!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to attain the path of Samadhi!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to climb the mountain of nirvana!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to learn equanimity without distinction!
Homage to the all-merciful Guan Yin,
I aspire to be become non-dual with the dhammakaya!

If I move toward a hill of swords,
May that hill be naturally destroyed!
If I move toward the pool of fire,
May that pool be naturally quenched!
If I move toward the hells,
May those hells naturally vanish!
If I move toward hungry ghosts,
May their hunger be naturally nourished!
If I move toward the demi gods,
May their anger naturally abate!
And, if I move toward animals,
May they naturally gain wisdom!"
